MMBA is working in HIV/AIDS sector through Targeted Intervention Programme in four blocks and 17 sites in Jalore district. It is coverning 250 female sex workers (FSWs). The major objectives of the programme are:

  • To create awareness among the community on various related aspect of HIV/AIDS
  • To promote community and family based care to HIV/AIDS cases within an enabling environment without any stigmatization and discrimination
  • To impart HIV/AIDS education to the primary secondary and higher secondary school in the project area
  • To increase the voluntary counselling services to the blood donors and the community

The programme seeks to bring about behavioural change among customers (truckers, worker, etc.) and FSWs. Awareness on the causes and prevention of HIV/AIDS is being created under the programme. Societal intervention is also focused on the responsibilities of family member towards HIV patients, social gatherings and behavioural change of the society.

  • Workshops and meetings with FSWs
  • Care and support to theinfected people
  • Linkages with government schemes
  • Advocacy on problems of FSWs
  • Formation and capacity building of SHGs of FSWs
